Wrangler Butt

We've been having crazy people come up into our driveway lately. Actually, the ranch drive. You see, Texas and I have our own driveway by the door to our house, but we also have a second driveway where big rigs with hay and feed come to deliver hay. Translation: crazy people have two opportunities to park their unwanted vehicles.

Crazy people like short Chinese ladies unable to speak English. Asking for directions to Oakdale. In the dark. With her hand discretely in her purse.

Crazy people like the United States Postal Service. Getting flat tires on their dune buggies and leaving the remains in our driveway as they speed off in a minivan. Leaving their dune buggy box car looking thing in our driveway. Unattended. In the way. Texas got to drive his first, and probably only, United States Postal Service car that day. Check that off the bucket list. When we called the USPS to complain about the unattended vehicle left in the way of our access road for hay deliveries, they told us where the keys were to move it. Why did I not get a picture of that??

Crazy people like sweet and innocent Jehovah Witness ladies coming to the door to provide us with pamphlets on their religion. Sweet and innocent, yes, but it was 8:30 in the morning. On a Saturday. While I'm in a bathrobe.

Considering these three events occurred within a 7 day time period, we decided to get a non-permanent gate of some fashion to block people from parking their cars in our second driveway, access road, yellow brick road, etc etc... For any reason. No matter who they are. Unless, of course, they happen to be carrying 50 tons of hay behind their vehicle. Then they may park there as long as they please.

A cable was put up over the weekend as the gate fixture. Is it going to stop anyone from breaking in? No. Will it stop someone from unclipping the cable to park their USPS buggy there? No.
Hopefully, it will make people avoid stopping at our house as often as they have been though and maybe continue on down the road... to Mom's house!! Just kidding, mom.

We worked really hard putting up this cable. We did a lot of work. We cut some cable. We got it all done.

Actually, the we I keep referring to is Texas. I was busy taking pictures of his Wrangler butt.

Take that Pioneer Woman!! :)
